My Dad planted this trumpet vine in our yard many years ago. It grew for a long time before deciding to bloom but when it finally did, he was delighted. Every band teacher should have a trumpet vine in the garden! It grows up our old clothesline pole (the pole no longer anchors any clothesline) and fools people into thinking it is a small tree. It's quite unruly, sending up suckers up to 20 feet away or so but it is pretty in bloom, and was a favorite of Dad's, so it has a special place in the garden.
